Why Brunch?

I first offered to do Brunch & Budgets for my friends waaaay back in January 2012. I sent a handful of friends an email and told them, "Note: all meetings will happen over food/drink-type things and I only accept food and drink as payment. Feed me, Seymour!" (I had just watched little shop of horrors, haha).

This whole thing started off as a way to help my friends with their finances and I could have never, ever imagined that I would have the privilege to turn this into a business helping people with their financial lives.

I dug up the old email and want to share the last paragraph of it because it's as true today as it was 6 years ago:

I LOVE talking about this stuff, so if you hate talking about this stuff, hopefully I'll rub off on you, just a little. Or at least one of us in the room will be happy. Seriously though, I think we've all spent enough time getting screwed over by the financial system and part of the reason why I love to talk about this stuff is because, corny as it sounds, knowledge really is power, especially when it comes to money. It's not going to be easy, but I promise you, it's going to be worth it.

So why brunch?

It's not about the food (though we love the food) or about the numbers (though I'm a nerd about the numbers).

It's about sharing and building together on common ground.

Breaking bread with you cuts away the pretense, the gravitas, and, frankly, the BS, that often comes with engaging in the financial services industry. As we uncover what you really value and what you truly want your life to look like, we can put in motion the strategies and tactics that will bring you financial clarity.

All the other noise is silenced, all the other distractions disappear.

Brunch & Budget® isn't about brunch or even about budgeting. b&b gives us the space to have real, open, and vulnerable conversations. It's about getting to the heart of why we're sitting across the table in the first place -

To help you find the path to live the life you want to live. Let's get there together.
